About
About Moresapien
The world can feel like a confusing place. Not because we're not paying attention - but because so much of what shapes our thinking happens beneath the surface. The biases we don't notice. The arguments that sound convincing but fall apart on closer inspection. The tactics that nudge us toward conclusions someone else has already chosen for us.
Moresapien exists for the curious ones. The people who find themselves asking why did I believe that? or how did that argument work on me? or simply what's going on? It's a free, open knowledge base covering cognitive biases, logical fallacies, rhetorical devices, manipulation tactics, mental models, and concepts from psychology, systems thinking, and political theory - all written in plain language for anyone aged 16 and up.
Why this matters now
These aren't abstract academic concepts. Every one of them plays out in real life, every day - in newsrooms, in parliament, in social media feeds, in workplaces, in relationships, in the stories we tell ourselves about who we are.
Politicians use framing effects and false dilemmas to narrow what feels possible. Algorithms exploit our negativity bias and availability heuristic to keep us scrolling. Bad actors deploy firehoses of falsehood and dog whistles to shift what's considered normal. Marketers lean on social proof and anchoring to shape what we buy and what we believe.
These tools are already being used - on all of us, all the time. It seems only fair that we're equipped with some of the same knowledge. Think of it as a suit of armour for your thinking - not to make you cynical, but to help you see more clearly and choose more freely.
How it works
Every concept on the site follows the same structure: what it means in plain language, how it shows up in the real world, how to spot it, and a thought worth holding onto.
But concepts don't exist in isolation. A straw man argument often travels with ad hominem attacks. Confirmation bias feeds motivated reasoning, which reinforces in-group bias. The real insight isn't in any single entry - it's in the web of connections between them. You can explore that web on the connections map.
Who we are
Moresapien is built by Mutomorro, a consultancy that works with organisations on systems thinking, leadership, and change. Our professional work focuses on helping leaders see the systems they operate in more clearly - but our curiosity and passion extend far beyond organisations. Understanding how thinking works matters everywhere, for everyone.
If you'd like to suggest a concept, share how you're using Moresapien, or talk about bringing it into a classroom or workplace, you can find us on Bluesky or get in touch through mutomorro.com.
